Does your child stare at all the National 5 English assessed components and freeze, promising “I’ll do it later” only to scramble at midnight?
Are they coming home from class feeling like every new topic has left them miles behind, too lost to bridge the gap on their own?
And each time a poor mock result arrives, does their confidence take another nosedive, replaced by thoughts like “I’ll never get this”?
They are not alone.

Yes, you can sign your child up at any stage subject to availability in your chosen group. Apply to join group classes here to sign up mid-month. Fees are calculated on a pro- rata basis, so parents only pay for the remaining classes in the term.

Learning how to approach all assessed components of the National 5 English Course is a gradual process. Consistent attendance is crucial for success. We cannot accommodate sporadic attendance. A term commitment is necessary for students to start seeing improvement in their knowledge and performance.
Parents can cancel the subscription at any time if they do not want their child to continue with classes. They should ensure that they cancel at least 1 day before their next term subscription is due for renewal. Cancelling is easy and parents will be provided with the simple steps to do so.
Payment will be collected at the beginning of each term or based on the initial subscription date. The final payment for the academic year will be taken in the final term April 2027.
Please see my terms and conditions for more information.
In order to fully benefit from the classes, it is best to attend a term of classes. Our lessons are progressive from week to week. Regular and consistent practice of a language tends to yield the best results for students. Consistency is key to success.
Please send me a message via my email and let me know in as much detail as possible about the needs of your child. I’ll get back to you with the most suitable class or recommendation. Private coaching with Claire is £59 per hour.
Classes are for 1 hour per week.
A small amount of homework is given to reinforce what is learned in class. Students can expect to spend from 30 minutes to 1 hour per week completing homework, depending upon the level of the class e.g. S2-S3 Cycle or S4 Cycle.
Homework is reviewed weekly and feedback is provided. Key skills are learned through consistent practice and the homework facilitates this. It also gives the teacher an opportunity to see what the class needs to work on.
Our classes are intentionally small, with a maximum of eight students per group, ensuring a personalised and focused learning experience.
Unlike other institutions that often accommodate large groups with both in-person and online participants, we prioritise individualised attention. This approach is led by our highly experienced GTCS registered school teacher, who has a proven track record of helping students achieve outstanding results in their exams.
Achieving a high grade in National 5 English requires consistency and a progressive approach. Our classes are carefully structured to build on students' knowledge each week, while consistently revisiting and reinforcing previously taught material. This method ensures that students not only retain what they learn but continue to grow their understanding and skills over time.
Based on our experience and the outstanding results of our students, we believe that students reach their full potential in a small group setting where they can actively engage and receive personalised guidance.
To maintain the integrity of our classes, we are unable to accommodate students who wish to attend on a sporadic, once-off basis.
Given the limited number of spots available, prepayment is required to secure your child’s place in our classes. Due to high demand and the presence of a waiting list, this prepayment, in the form of a term subscription, guarantees your child's space in our classes.
If you have any further questions, please email Level Up.
For privacy and child protection all cameras are switched off during classes. Our classes are run in a small group setting to facilitate a personalised experience for students. Students can raise their hand or simply unmute on Zoom to ask a question at any time! Students will complete exercises in class so we can ensure they have understood what was covered.
Asking questions in class is always encouraged and we will ensure that student's leave the class feeling confident that they have a good understanding of what was covered.
If there is something that students don't understand when reviewing material outside of class, they can e-mail us and they will get a reply as soon as possible with an explanation.
All notes are uploaded weekly to the class group's folder. Students will have access to the notes via Google Drive which is located on the student dashboard. They will also be given their own personal folder where they can upload any homework for review.
When parents sign up for the term subscription, they will be charged on the same date each month according to when they sign up. This will be in the last week of every month as the option to join the subscription will only open for this week every month.
Parents should ensure to cancel at least 24 hours before their term subscription renewal to ensure they are not charged. A reminder email of subscriptions renewing will be sent in the week before the new term starts.
Cancelling is very straightforward. Email [email protected] . Please also see our terms and conditions for more information.
