I’m a GTCS-registered teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience, an M.A. (Hons) in English, PGCE teacher training and I am currently in the final year of my PhD.
I created Level Up Nat 5 English Group Classes because students can feel overwhelmed by the different demands of the course. My approach breaks learning into clear, manageable steps and gives students practical strategies they can apply themselves.
As a parent of two children who achieved A grades in National 5 and Higher English, I also understand the course from a parent’s perspective.
My philosophy is simple: work smarter, practise consistently and understand exactly what is required.
Classes take place live online for one hour each week.
The National 5 English Group meets on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM.
The group is designed for S2–S4 Scottish students preparing for National 5 English.
Classes are limited to a maximum of eight students.
Students initially join on a £39 weekly recurring subscription. All subscriptions automatically move onto the £156 monthly recurring subscription during the first week of the relevant month. Monthly payments continue automatically after the change.
The class remains payable. Students can access the notes, homework details and available recording so they can catch up before the next class.
No. Unused classes cannot be carried over, transferred to another student or exchanged for another class or resource.
Yes. Feedback on student work and parent updates are included as part of the group-class programme.
Yes. New students begin on the £39 weekly recurring subscription. All students will then move the student onto the £156 monthly recurring subscription during the first week of the relevant calendar month.
Students receive focused homework to reinforce what has been covered during the weekly lesson. Homework is reviewed regularly and helps Claire identify areas that may need further attention.
Students receive access to weekly class notes and resources so they can review what has been covered and complete their homework between lessons.
